How I became the mom who makes it look easy
There’s nothing more satisfying than crossing something off a list.
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved flipping through my planner, clipping magazines for my vision binder, and mapping out my next big project. (No surprise I ended up working as a party planner.)
I’ve always been the organized one — until I became a mom.
Suddenly, the mental load exploded.
House maintenance slipped through the cracks. Meals felt like a daily chore I dreaded. For the first time in my life, I started missing appointments.
And the worst part? I resented my husband, because everything I used to manage so easily had turned into a mountain.
That’s when I realized my days of “winging it” were over.
I needed more than sticky notes and good intentions.
I needed a structure. A routine. A system that could manage family life without eating up all my time or energy.
I dove back into every productivity method I’d ever used — GTD, time blocking, bullet journaling. But they all seemed built for the workplace, not the chaos of mom life.
Everything changed when I realized I could take the systems and tools I loved… and adapt them for motherhood.
It turns out my mom brain needed a good system even more than my work brain ever did.
Motherhood is a lot.
But with a good system, it’s also a lot easier.
